Perfect timing for our first BarkBox! Right before Christmas! What came in our BarkBox this month!
- Planet Dog Orbee Tuff Bulb – we put some treats in this toy and it kept the doggies busy for quite some time!
- Superior Farms Lamb Biscuits – 100% natural lamb and it’s grain and gluten free!
- Safemade Holiday Tartan Bandana – you can see Kenshin modeling it below .. sorta
- Simply Fido Penguin with Crinkle Paper Body – my pups showed no interest in this but seems like a good idea. Sounds like there’s an empty water bottle in there and they love to play with water bottles lol so maybe they’ll warm up to it
- Etta Says Duck Chew – crunchy and savory and they promote healthy choppers and gums! My pups chewed it up within a minute! so it’s safe to say they loved it!
It’s that time of the year again! The Annual PNW Corgi Picnic!!!! Thanks to Kathy and Leo for opening their home for over 150 corgis and their humans! My corgis had the best time! How amazing would it be if you woke up to a yardful of corgis every morning???????? I’d seriously never leave my house 🙂
Umi’s sister found us on Instagram and we met up at Westcrest Park today =) How crazy right?!!?!!?
This has been our favorite hike so far!!!!!!!! I cannot believe how amazing it is and how close to Seattle it is! I think it was slightly over an hour drive! It was only about 5.5 miles roundtrip but I definitely felt it the next day! The first half of the hike was fairly easy but once you get halfway up, there were some fallen tree stumps we had to climb over. I almost turned around at this point because I thought I may have gotten lost, I’ve never had to climb over anything on a hike before. What freaked me out the most was having to carry Umi while climbing over. I’m glad we didn’t give up though because the view at the top was just amazing and my video and photos cannot show you how incredible it is so go there and check it out for yourself!!!! You won’t regret it! Oh yah and eat before you go =) or bring a lunch with you! I ate right before I went and I was starving when I got back to the car.

Parking: Northwest Forest Park Required! (I get my passes at the ranger station at REI)
There is a parking lot and from the parking lot, it’s only a .25 mile hike down to the beach.
You’ll want to come here when the tide is low and of course I checked the tide schedule but decided to just leave my house whenever I wanted to so I got here when the tide wasn’t super low – bummer. I was also planning on getting here during sunset for pics but I didn’t want to get home super late … I have to come back another day! Anyhoo got some pics and a video of the babies playing on the beach =) enjoy!
This off leash area is big enough for your dogs to run until they’re tired and there are always other dogs to play with. There are multiple watering stations throughout the park but only ONE trash can for poop which I find super odd. I don’t like to carry poop around with me and I don’t want to keep running across the park to dispose of the doggies’ poop. I have to say this isn’t one of my favorite parks but I come here occasionally when I don’t have a lot of time because this park is fairly close to home. There is a separate small dog area but I don’t ever see small dogs in there. I don’t think I even noticed it until my 3rd time here. Oh and there’s a parking lot – that’s always a plus in Seattle =)
This is one of the easiest hikes and one of my favorite hikes that’s close to Seattle! Rattlesnake Ledge is pretty much a bunch of rocks that tower over the Rattlesnake Lake and Snoqualmie River Valley. Personally, I’m absolutely terrified to get too close to the ledge for a truly good picture. I’ve been up there numerous times but I haven’t been able climb to the edge for a photo of the lake from up above – sad!
Check out some of Umi’s pictures sitting off to the side to let other hikers pass! She just learned that today =)
